Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy

Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy , Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh who was killed in a helicopter crash on 2nd Sept. was of course a politician. His government was notoriously corrupt. However, certain facts about him stand out.

1) He had his schooling in the Besant Theosophical High School run by Kalakshetra Foundation. This should have had atleast some impact on his value system.

2) He was a broadminded Christian equally at home in Bethlehem and Tirumala, as noted by The Hindu.

3) He was a medical doctor and he always empathised with the poor.

We have lost an assertive and confident politician.

You have got him totally wrong. I wud say that even Theosophical Society cud not make an impact on him. He is a warlord as was his father. His father was killed in gang war. I do not think u wud find any CM in any State in India with such a background. He is known to have ordered killings personally.

Mr.Krishnaraj,

I stand corrected. It was because of his notoriety that I tried to find some positive features. He might have been a little less murderous because of tangential theosophical input.

There were some good points as well. The irrigation projects that his govt undertook are real good and have lot of long term benefits. When all of then get over in about 5 years from now, two major rivers (krishna & Godavari) wud hhave git integrated and arid areas of Telegana and rayalaseem wud have got irrigated totally. Looking at some of these projects, I start to belive that Gangaa-Kaveri wud be a reality some day.
